Painting in my life has served as a visual journaling process and essentially a dialogue with God about varying topics, centered on personal evolution and spiritual growth. In my Imagination Squared square, I assembled a kit of little-girl word beads along the sides to emulate my trivial chatterings in informal prayer-like utterances in a random grid. On the front facade, I found the few beads which give clues to the deep spiritual awareness and centering I strive to find each morning: To see what is in front of me. Feel the pulse of NOW wholly. Cherish today. The perimeter is entirely life's noise.

Imagination is to me the lifeblood of hope, the spark of infinite possibilities and the stage for all vision to set our lives in motion. It's a way out, a way up, a way through.

Sidenote:

My deepest thanks to my friend, Dolf, who slapped me a big high five after I offered up another one of my wacky ideas. When he said, "Well, I can make 100 a day...." I knew we were starting something NOW. 5 days later, 200 squares, 200 copies, glue, sanding paper, gesso, a facebook page and WinnDixie bags, we were on a delivery mission. From there it exploded. I'm just grateful he took the time, has a very supportive wife (willing to sand! and lost him for days to the factory) :-) He is a delight and the reason we have this opportunity to write a few thoughts.

This idea, Imagination Squared, was inspiring for me personally. It was viral in its expansion, yet centered in core generosity and openness of sharing ideas on a shared platform. It could have flopped if no one dared. Each contributor lit a flame of passion and drove it onward, inciting the next step of incremental growth. I hope more project pop up everywhere. So simple individually, yet so powerful collectively.
