This is a picture of sunrise on the Gulf of Mexico taken from the southeast side of Dauphin Island, Alabama. The picture was taken in January 2005 after Hurricane Katrina had destroyed the west end of the Island. The tree pictured used to be living and growing inside the shore line – not on the beach. Katrina changed all that.
